April 2014
All of April we have had fantastic weather, calm seas
averaging around 29 degrees.
Dubai’s 4WD adventure through the desert was fantastic, as
was the evening show in the Bedouin Campsite.
Our sea days have been plentiful and have occupied the time
mostly with reading, trivia games, table tennis and relaxing on the pool deck.
The gym has been a regular on our list of destinations-food is plentiful.
Maldives was a surprise as the island of Male is Not the
place to visit if you want a Maldivian experience. Very crowded and not so
clean. The outer Islands are the ones on the brochures.
Seychelles was beautiful-great beaches, unlike Mauritius
which seemed to have very few. Very Indian influences with lots of Temples and
religious sites in Mauritius and great scenery.
Reunion Island was
also very picturesque with a very diverse landscape- a place to definitely come
back to.
Our trivia team have won a few prizes, and also shuffle
board, 10 pin bowling and scattagories.
This ship is much smaller than the ones we have travelled
on, (only 550 passengers) and at the moment, mostly Americans but Aussies are
well represented. We had an ANZAC service on board which was well attended.
We had a pirate drill when we entered the Arabian Sea, and
the crew had a man overboard drill and Shane was in our stateroom when they had
a testing of the balcony sprinkler.
We have had a crossing the equator ceremony which was great
fun.
We are looking forward to the beginning of our South African
experience which starts tomorrow with the 1st port of call being
Durban. Hope to include some pictures of the big 4 from our safari (if we’re
lucky).
Photos to follow (I hope)
